Multimedia Production Specialist (Multiple Positions)

The Hay Institute is looking for a Multimedia Production Specialist. The Multimedia Production Specialist will work across the programs as a member of the communication team. The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience in graphic design (with an emphasis on optimization for
web and digital publishing), video and audio production (from concept through execution and distribution). They will be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple competing tasks while maintaining a positive, team-centered attitude.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Support the Hay Institute’s programs, outreach strategies, information campaigns, and fundraising efforts by producing graphics, infographics, videos, pieces of training, and other visual and audio communications optimized for digital distribution, both individually and as part of the team
- Create artwork and graphic assets for print and online
- Design logos and collateral including the development of institutional branding material
- Further develop the National Center’s multimedia outreach (social media, email campaigns, video, podcasts, and print collateral) to enhance audience engagement
- Identify ways to support the National Center’s media, public policy, and fundraising goals, and - - work with the senior management and public affairs teams to execute
- Represent the organization to a variety of audiences including funders, policy makers, government agencies, advocacy and victims’ rights groups
- Identify new and innovative ways to deliver the National Center’s message/presence to a broader audience
- Identify new tools, trends, and opportunities for visual or interactive communication
- Assist with the development of online training materials
- Participate in projects and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in design, production, marketing, communications or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Creativity: Ability to tell a story through visual design and narration, with various tools and technologies
- Critical thinking: Ability to advise team members and/or senior leadership on best practices and industry standards, and to problem-solve anticipated and unexpected obstacles
- Excellent interpersonal communication: Ability to engage a wide array of constituencies, from colleagues to vendors to funders to crime victims
- Collaborative: Ability to work on a variety of initiatives with diverse audiences
- Adaptable: Ability to be flexible in the workplace, operating both independently with little oversight and collaboratively in team settings
- Well-organized: Capacity to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines
- Detail oriented
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs and how they integrate with common user interfaces

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of issues the Hay Institute covers
- Experience working with a nonprofit or mission-oriented agency
- Experience in marketing and user research
- Experience interpreting data, research, and other information visually or aurally
- Basic coding skills
